Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I can't believe I am saying this but I actually didn't dress up this year! I think Halloween being on a Wednesday and not really knowing when to celebrate just got the best of me and it all passed before I could even think up a costume. This Mary Poppins costume is the most simple costume to put together but it is so cute and the perfect last-minute costume. Here are a couple more of my favorite last-minute costumes that I love from Pinterest:

There is no better place on the internet than Pinterest to find any type of costume. Every year the first place I go to for costume ideas is Pinterest and I usually find exactly what I am looking for.

Favorite Things on the Internet (Halloween):
  • Ellen Shows Off Her Favorite Halloween Costumes for Kids - The Halloween costumes that Ellen showed off on her show this year were absolutely hysterical! Between the Nicki Minaj one and Fortnite they are so funny and if you have not seen this you need to.
  • The Haunting of the Hill House - This Netflix original show is being talked about as if it is the most terrifying show ever made. I think I read somewhere that it was so scary it made someone pass out. This really annoyed me because I do not like scary movies but I do love a good storyline. So I finally built up the courage to watch it and I am so happy I did because it is an amazing story, yes there are some parts that are a little terrifying but it is so good and I highly recommend it.
Happy Halloween, be safe!!

My Favorite Jacket

J.Crew Factory: Water Resistant Rainjacket | Gap: Jeans | Target: Flats | J.Crew Factory: Teddie Sweater
To be honest I was freezing while taking these photos and the wind would not let up but that's the fall for ya. Anyways this jacket from J.Crew seems to be a reoccurrence here on the blog but I really do love it. So because I am so short the sleeves on this jacket were a little too long so I took the end of the sleeve and rolled it into the perfect length and they have not moved. A heavy sweater fits comfortably under this jacket making it perfect for the colder fall days.

This jacket is a little on the pricey side but well worth it for how much use I have gotten out of it. This jacket is regularly 98$ but right now J.Crew has a deal going on if you spend 100$ then you get 30% off of your order which makes the price really worth it!

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This past week was pretty low key nothing special really happened, I worked a lot on homework and blog stuff, I already started working on my Christmas content and it makes me so excited for Christmas.

Weekend Update: Tonight we are going to watch kara cheer at the football game, their team made it to sectionals so she is super excited. We are also going to celebrate another birthday this weekend for my brother on Sunday. Other than that my weekend is open so who knows what will happen.

Favorite Things on the Internet:
  • Atypical: I just finished this two-season Netflix original show and I highly recommend it. This show is about a boy named Sam who has autism. The show shows how Sam deals with real-life events such as kissing a girl and getting into college. It also goes through the difficult events of his family and how each other them deal with it in their own way. But now that I have finished this show I need a new one. Any suggestions??
  • Starbuck's Witches Brew: Starbucks did it again they have a new frappuccino for Halloween called the witches brew. According to US Today although it is the color purple it tastes like an orange creamsicle. I might pass on this one and let others let me know how it is.
  • Sabrina the Teenage Witch Reunion: Melissa Joan Hart got the cast of Sabrina the teenage witch back together to promote the reboot of the show on Netflix. I used to love this show so I'll have to check out the reboot.
  • Little Black Dress: Earlier this week I posted about this black t-shirt dress from Amazon. Having pockets in a t-shirt dress has been life-changing for me.

Currently Wanting:
  • J.Crew Long Puffer Coat: I have been wanting a puffer like this for a long time but I always get nervous about the length with me being so short. I am definitely going to try this on during my upcoming trip to Vermont if it is in the store.
  • A new crossbody: I haven't found one I love yet but I have been looking for a new neutral colored crossbody that can work with any outfit.

Little Black Dress

I am back today with another amazon fashion item (I'm now obsessed), this black t-shirt dress is only 18.99$. I have found buying clothes on Amazon to be so convenient like you literally just have to type in a certain item you want and there are multiple different variations for you.
So as I said before you can literally search anything on Amazon and get at least ten different items that you are exactly looking for. Well, I needed a little black dress so I type in "black t-shirt dress" and this one (along with a bunch of others) came up. The best part is that I found something I didn't know I even needed! It's a t-shirt dress with POCKETS, I personally think this is the best invention I have ever found and I don't think I can go back to a t-shirt dress without pockets.

Amazon: Little Black Dress | Target: Heeled Booties | Francescas: Long necklace (Similar) | Rachel Pally: Reversible Clutch (Similar)

This little clutch is actually from a fabfitfun box, I think it was the spring one but I think it is perfect for the fall time with the yellow and orange colors. This clutch is by Rachel Pally and is currently sold out but this one is still available and just as cute!

If you haven't checked out the fashion on Amazon I highly recommend it.

Fall and Winter Jackets

It has been pretty chilly here in upstate New York, there was none of that warm cool fall air it pretty much just went to cold. So I have already had to pull out most of my jackets. I feel as if I will never be fully satisfied with the amount of jackets I own and I will always want more.

J.Crew jackets (along with everything else in that store) I feel are the best quality and styles of jacket. I have been living in the water-resistant rain jacket, I just wish it came with a lining or was a little heavier so I could wear it more as it gets colder. Speaking of J.Crew jackets I have had my eye on the city coat for as long as I can remember and it is definitely going on my Christmas wishlist this year. And they have petite sizes which are even better so it won't go down to my ankles.

These teddy bear jackets were super in last year and I am so excited to see that they are back in again this year. I love this one by Kensie which looks so cozy I may just get it to use it as a blanket. Comfort is definitely an aspect I look at when buying a jacket, I hate when it's tight and you can't lift your arms. I'm also really sensitive to certain fabrics when it comes to jackets so I always make sure to have that in mind when picking out a new one.

Name Change (again???)

I think one of the hardest things about this blog has been the name. Trying to find something that fits me as a person but also be something people remember and like. I used to be known as petiteinherpearls and after a while I started to feel as though that name didn't fit me anymore and I needed something more "grown-up", so I changed the name to bleuandwhit which was my own spin on blue and white and also me trying to come up with a super clever name. It didn't work and I started to feel as though it was not me.

I can still remember coming up with the name petiteinherpearls, Kyle and I were driving home from Myrtle beach listening to a Gary Vaynerchuk podcast about buisness and taking initiative, and if you want something in life you need to go out and get it. So as we were making the long drive home and bouncing ideas off of each other petiteinherpearls was what we came up with and I loved it.

So why the new name now? Well if I could I would go back to petiteinherpearls but unfortunately, that can't happen because the .com for that domain name is already taken by something that looks like spam. Also, a new name because to be honest with you I can't tell you the last time I wore anything that had pearls on it but I can tell you the last time I wore a pair of heels. Being 4'9 heels have become a girl's best friend, I'll take any type of help in the height department I can get. With that also being said I would not change my height even if I could, I love being this size and it's something I have embraced in my life.

So I hope that you like this new name change and embrace all things petite with me!

Ruffle Flannel Shirt

J.Crew Factory: Ruffle flannel shirt | Gap Factory: Jeans | Target: Flats

It is finally starting to feel like fall here in upstate new york and I am loving it. Last week it was so hot that we had to turn the air conditioning back on! Now I am finally comfortable in my new fall pieces like this ruffle flannel shirt from J.Crew factory. This top is so soft and comfortable it is definitely going to be a favorite piece of mine this fall and winter.

I just wore this outfit this past weekend out to lunch with my family and grandparents to celebrate my mom's birthday at our favorite Italian restaurant.

This top also comes in a plaid print that I will probably purchase in the near future because of how soft this one is. When I originally purchased this I was really unsure about it and was planning to wear it just under a vest but I think that it looks just as cute without the vest!

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I made this raspberry cake for her which was filled with a raspberry sauce and lined with fresh raspberries. I don't bake a lot but I always love it when I do. This week I posted this post about what I did this weekend with my mom to celebrate her birthday.

Weekend Happenings: Tonight I am celebrating another birthday (October is the month of birthdays) with my best friend. We are planning to make homemade pizzas and have frozen strawberry daiquiris. Then Saturday dinner with some more friends and other than that I am hoping to have a chill relaxing weekend.

Things Happening:
If you don't know I am from upstate New York by the Albany area, this past weekend this region received some news that shook the entire capital region. On Saturday the deadliest transportation accident since 2009 happened very close to home. On Saturday a group of people were on their way to a birthday celebration in Cooperstown when the limo crashed on the way killing all 18 people inside and 2 bystanders. This tragic event has been consuming my mind thinking of all of the innocent people and their families. I have decided to add a couple of links to places that you could donate if you would like. I am keeping the families of these innocent people in my prayers.

Flower Power in the Fall

JCrew: Flower Vest | JCrew: Teddie Sweater | Gap: Jeans | Target: Flats | Vince Commuto: Luck Tote

I have a serious thing for J.Crew vests in the fall months and this may or may not be one of the many J.Crew vests that you see even within this month. I picked this one up the other week and I fell in love with it because it can go with so many different outfit combinations as well as different seasons. I knew I had to get this one when the manager told me they had it in the store for less than 24 hours and this was the last one they had (or at least that's how I justified myself to buy it).

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday so today I will be spending my day baking and decorating a cake! It's a surprise what type of cake it is for her but maybe on Friday, I will share what it was! Monday's post was all about what we did this past weekend for moms birthday, check it out here.

This Vince Camuto luck tote was part of the 2018 fall fabfitfun box. This bag retails for $128 and the fabfitfun box is only $50. This is why I love the fabfitfun box, the items are such a good quality and the retail value of the box is so high that it makes it so worth the price of the actual box.

Weekend Recap of Mom's Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated my mom's birthday at the Brotherhood winery which is the oldest winery in America. We did a wine tasting and we took a tour and learned facts like, they actually stayed open during the prohibition to make wine for the churches.

At the winery, there was a cute little spot to sit outside and have a glass of wine while we waited to have lunch at the cafe on site. There was also a DJ outside playing music while people could stomp grapes and wine bottles of wine for the amount of juice they produced.

At the Vinum Cafe, we ordered the most delicious cheese and a charcuterie platter for lunch. We sat outside on the back patio and listened to the cheers of the wedding going on in the distance. It was an amazing lunch with delicious food.

After lunch, we took a tour underground to see where all of the wine is made and stored. It was fascinating to go in through these almost secret hidden tunnels filled with the product that they sell is made.
After the tour, we had our tasting and got the chance to choose five wines that we would like to try. We also received oyster crackers to cleanse our pallet and the Brotherhood wine glass.

After the winery, we headed back home to have dinner at mom's favorite restaurant and had cake to finish it all off!

Happy Birthday, momma!
