FYY Phone Cases and *GIVEAWAY*

I am so excited to bring you all today’s blog post and to do my very first giveaway on the blog! Today I am sharing with you these amazing phone cases and why I am completely obsessed with them!

I love anything that is convenient and requires me to carry less stuff. Right now I am all over the place which requires me to carry a lot of stuff with me, whether I am going to school with textbooks and notebooks filling my bag, or play practice with a huge script and treats for the cast, I always have something in my hand. Usually, it's my phone and then I have to juggle around to find my wallet, but with cases that have the built-in wallets, it makes life a lot easier. I love that this case has more than one spot to put your cards in. This case also has a strap that is detachable which is so nice to be able to detach when your phone needs to lay flat or to keep it on when you need to be hands-free.

I also love the cases that have the cover like this one. I have found that these cases are so useful when going to concerts or events where you don’t want a bag. Your cards and money stay secure within the pockets and you can have everything in one place. I also love the blue and white print of this case, FYY has so many different colors to choose from which you can see here. My mom only uses cases like this one because she is constantly on the move, and this way she only has to grab one thing when she leaves the house instead of trying to grab a ton of different things.

*GIVEAWAY*
FYY has been nice enough to give away one of their phone cases to one lucky winner! All you have to do is follow my Instagram @petiteinherheels and repin a few of FYY’s Pinterest photos (click this link for their Pinterest). The person who is following my Instagram and repins the most pictures on the FYY Pinterest page will win the giveaway!

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This past week was only a four day weekend which is always a nice treat. I'm not sure if I ever really mention this a lot but I help my mom at the elementary school that she works at direct the school play. So this week I have been working on the costume list which needs to go out to the parents super soon. It was also the first week of full classes, so it's been super busy even though it was a short week.

Weekend Review: This past weekend into Monday we finally got our first big snow storm so we are going to go skiing again this weekend to my favorite mountain. I also am having some girl time with a couple of my friends this weekend which I am really looking forward to!

Favorite Products:
  • Knit Quick Blanket - I feel like this is such a random item to have in my favorite products but I have been super obsessed with it this past week. Due to the storm, we were kinda stuck inside all weekend and part of the beginning of the week so my mom and I started kitting blankets. I can honestly say once it gets going it is so relaxing and fun to watch the blanket start to form.
  • My Big Fat Fabulous Life and I am Jazz - These two TLC shows have been a favorite of mine for a really long time. Each show some big things are happening in Jazz's and Whitney's life so this season is super entertaining and kinda emotional.

Valentines Day Gift Guide For Him

If you haven’t read my Valentines day gift guide for her you can click here to read it! But now it is time for the men like I said in my gift guide for her Kyle and I don’t usually do extravagant gifts for each other. This year I think we're going to do something small and go all out on a big sushi dinner. But for this gift guide, I added gifts that are all different prices cause each couple does things differently.

One of Kyles new years resolutions (like mine and everyone else’s in the world) is to get healthy. So I added a couple of fitness items like the swell water bottle which keeps your water cold for a long time. Fun fact Kyle loves and pretty much will only drink room temperature water and I hate room temperature water. My water has to be so cold it hurts your teeth that's why I love my swell bottle so much because the ice will still be there at the end of the day.

I also added some fun boxers and socks that are Valentine's day themed. I think boxers and socks that are themed are so fun and J.Crew Factory has some of the best-themed ones for men and women. If you read my blog then you know I have a J.Crew Factory no show sock obsession which always has the cutest themed socks, like these dachshund ones

Valentines Gift Guide For Her

It feels like just yesterday we were talking about Christmas gifts and our timelines were filled with holiday content. But now it is that time of year when we start talking about Valentine's day. This will be mine and Kyle's fifth Valentines day together which is crazy to think about. Valentine's day is usually super low key for Kyle and me, this year I have class until 7 so we aren't even going to go out to dinner on actual Valentine's day. I love the idea of Valentine's day to spread and celebrate love but I really don't need a day to show Kyle I love him, he already knows.

Even though I don't need a day to celebrate love because it should be celebrated every day, I'll take any excuse to spoil Kyle with a gift. We usually do something small, like a 50$ limit but I added a bunch of different price range gifts in this guide cause everyone is different!

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This past week was the first week back to grad school for me. I only have classes Tuesdays and Thursdays and this one kinda funky class which is held for three weekends of the semester next month. So far so good but it means that I'm back to constantly worry if I missed an assignment or if I have to get working on one. It has also been a freezing week but thankfully I have this giant, amazing, fluffy coat (which is currently on sale) to help me get through it!

Weekend Update: This weekend we are finally going skiing, we are heading to Whiteface mountain. Funny story about Whiteface mountain, this mountain was the first really big mountain (we have a bunch of small ones that we live by) that Kyle had gone to. He was still renting his ski's and didn't have a pair of his own that were really customed to him. So we went all the way to the very top of the mountain and not even halfway down Kyle gets so stuck that ski patrol has to come and help us down off the mountain. We had to ride the ski lift back down the mountain. Its funny now,  it wasn't really at the time.

Current Finds:
  • Five Foot One Teacher: I love finding new people to follow and watch on YouTube and recently I found Brittney who is a high school English teacher and just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. Although I'm not going to be a teacher (if you are you should definitely watch her) she is so inspiring and energetic. She's the type of person who makes you just feel good when you watch her videos.
  • Bed Head Wave Artist Deep Waver: Another YouTube video for ya but I had to share this! I received the Bed Head Wave Artist Waver for Christmas and at first, I had no idea what to do with it so I did a little digging on YouTube and found this video and fell in love with this waver! It is so quick and simple to use which is exactly what I need in the mornings.
Recently watched: So I don't really have anything currently on my wishlist this week but I have been watching a lot of great stuff lately so I figured I would share with you.
  • New Girl: I just binge-watched the entire series of New Girl and it did not disappoint. I'm actually super sad that this ended and now I need something new to watch. Any recommendations??
  • Crazy Rich Asians: I finally watched this movie and it was AMAZINGGG! If you haven't seen this movie you have to, it is so so so good!
  • Simple Favor: I watched this movie last night and it was pretty good, it was one of those movies that is a little different and kinda made you think about it when it was over.

Jade Roller Review (HONEST!!)

Okay so I have gone back and forth about writing this post for some time now but I figured I would go ahead and do it anyways. By now you have probably heard about the beauty trend that has taken over the beauty world. The jade roller is a mineral stone that you roll along your face to de-puff your under eyes.

Now before I go into this any further I do want to point out that my face is EXTREMELY sensitive and almost everything irritates my face. So with that being said the jade roller did irritate my face.

I have been wanting one of these for a very long time and I finally got my hands on one a couple months ago. I used it for a couple of days before I went to sleep, it stays pretty cold and feels so amazing on your face. After about a week of using the roller, I woke up one morning with a line of what looked to be blemishes all along my face. I will insert a picture, it was pretty bad on the left side of my face and only a few dots on the right side of my face. These bumps didn’t hurt and they weren’t really raised but they didn’t look great and they were starting to concern me. I had a pretty bad cold at the time so I went over to the doctor just to have them check it out. Now, this was just my primary doctor and not my dermatologist, but the doctor said that what could have happened was that I had a preexisting blemish on my face and when I rolled the jade roller along my face I could have spread it throughout my face. They put me on an antibiotic and it cleared up within a few days.

So this honestly could have happened due to a combination of different things put together such as bacteria on my face and my sickness at the time. I haven’t tried it again since but part of me wants to see if this was just a coincidence or it will reoccur.

So if you haven’t used a jade roller but want to, I didn’t write this post to discourage anyone from using one of these rollers because honestly, my skin is so weird this is probably just a me thing. But my advice going forward,
  • If you have blemishes on your face I would be so careful running the roller over them or not running the roller over them at all.
  • Make sure to clean the roller off every time before and after use.
  • Do not share the roller.
  • Clean your face before using the roller.

I hope this helps someone and like I said before I really loved using the jade roller before I got the infection and I want to give in another try I just want to get my skin under control first!

Bow-Sleeve Top

I have had this top in the back of my closet since before Christmas and I have completely forgotten all about it. I feel like I have so much stuff shoved into my closet that this happens more then I would like to admit. Maybe I do need to watch the Tidying Up with Marie Kondo more then I thought I did. Anyways, I had originally bought this top to wear on Christmas Eve and with this J.Crew Ruffle Front Mini Skirt but I paired the skirt with this black turtleneck instead.

Today I paired this top with these black pants to give it a more edgy vibe. This could be a perfect outfit to transition from day to night. I added a pair of nude heels to this outfit to make it more professional for a day job or an interview. I’m about to get to the point in my life where it is going to be all about interviews and trying to find my first “big girl” job. Adding a pair of dress pants with this top would be the perfect interview outfit. Finding an outfit to wear to an interview that is appropriate is sometimes hard to think of especially when you're already nervous about actually going to the interview. I want to bring more professional outfits and interview outfits to the blog because I know how challenging that time can be. This outfit could easily be transitioned into a nighttime look with a pair of booties and a clutch to make it more casual.

*Sale Alert* This top is currently on sale right now at J.crew factory for only $29.99. J.Crew Factory is having an amazing sale right now where if you buy two items you get 50% off, three items 60% off, and four or more items are 75% off! There are twelve pages of clearance items at the moment so you should definitely be able to find something! The sawyer boots I am wearing along with the top are both currently part of this sale!

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This week has been sort of a tough one. My family has two Havanese dogs (I did a post with zesty paws with the pups which you can see here!) and they have been super sick for the past couple of weeks and they both can't get over the sickness. It is so sad to see these tiny pups so sick and you can just see in their eyes that they don't feel good. Four vet visits later and we are still trying the chicken and rice. Hopefully, the new week will bring the pup health and treats.

Weekend Happenings: I'm really not sure what's happening this weekend. I sort of like weekends like that though because anything could happen or nothing could happen. I really want to see Mary Poppins returns I've heard really mixed reviews about it. Has anyone seen it, any thoughts? Kyle also mentioned going to our favorite Chinese restaurant so that may happen also!

Favorite Finds:
  • I go back and forth a lot about what I like to use for a calendar, I love to write down events on a real calendar or a planner but then you have to remember the planner. For me in my life right now I have found that the google calendar works the best for me. It has an actual calendar layout and everything can be color coded. I actually deleted the iPhone calendar app and use this one instead. I also like to add events in on my computer and they automatically show up on my phone which is super convenient.
  • Psycho by Danielle Bradberry -  If you know me then you know I love country music more then anything. I have loved Danielle Bradberry since she has been on the voice and right now she is doing an album full of covers and the first is psycho by Post Malone which is so amazing and if you haven't heard it yet you need to!
  • Favorite Petite Jackets and Maine Recap - This week I shared all about our recent trip to Maine that we took a few days after Christmas. Ogunquit Maine is such a beautiful place any time of year I'm really glad we were able to experience it in the winter even if it was freezing. Speaking of freezing I also shared a few of my favorite jackets that I received for Christmas. The two coats that I have in petite also come in regular sizes also!
Current Wishlist:
  • Sherpa popover jacket - I saw this on a recent trip to J.Crew and it looks so cozy and comfy. It comes in cream and navy and both colors are currently on sale. This actually just came in the mail for my mom today and now I want it even more!
  • Tarte Concealer - I fell in love with this concealer over the summer and I finally ran out of it so I need to find some time to get over to Ulta a pick up some more. I haven't found one that lives up to this one has anyone else? If so let me know so I can try it out!

Favorite Jackets in Petite

I have a problem with jackets... I like jackets way too much, I like jackets so much that I received three different jackets for Christmas this year. I figured I like them so much I might as well put all of my favorites into a post.
City Coat - I have had my eye on this J.Crew City coat for years and years. Every time I would go into a J.Crew I would try this coat on but it never fit the way I wanted it to. I found the petite online and asked Kyle for it for Christmas. The petite fits like a glove and it the perfect length! I have found that a lot of stores do not have petite in store but they usually do online so always ask if they can order it for you or check it out online yourself.
Hooded Puffer Coat - This Michael Kors is another jacket that I have had my eye on for years. I love the longer jacket look but I am so short that it is always ridiculously long on me. Just like the city coat, I found this puffer in petite online and asked for it from my parents as another Christmas present. The length is perfect on the body as we as in the arms. I really wanted this for an easy everyday jacket and that is exactly what it is. Its also a puffer so even though it is long it will condense into a small bag for easy travel.

J.Crew Fleece Coat - I love the teddy jackets and again have been wanting one for a while and when I saw this one in J.Crew I knew I needed it. This jacket isn't petite but it fits just perfect. This is one of the warmest jackets that I own and the softest. It honestly feels like you're wearing a blanket when you put it on.

Maine Recap

Two days after Christmas my family along with my grandparents traveled to Ogunquit Maine for a small family trip. My family had never been there in the Winter time so we decided to check it out. Although there wasn't as much open as there is in the summertime we still made it work and had an amazing time.

The hotel that we stayed at wasn't actually on the beach but it had a path to the beach so we took a walk to the beach and took a few pictures. It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside and it wasn't all that cold out.

Later on that day we checked out Snug Harbor Farm which is in Kennebunkport. Before the trip, we were really unsure about what to do once we got there. I actually had just followed Jackie Greaney on Instagram who you should go follow @jackiegreaney because he instagram is like a dream. But she gave me so many good recommendations and this was one of them!
My Outfit: Jacket | Sweater | Pants | Shoes | Sunglasses

The farm had a bunch of animals and greenhouses you could purchase from or just walk through. I loved the greenhouse filled with succulents, some of them were gigantic. There was also a big bunny that my mother fell in love with!
Overall we had a great time on our trip and I highly recommend the Ogunquit/Kennebunkport area of Maine!

My New Year Goals and A Look Back at 2018

This year was a pretty big year, I graduate from college with my bachelors in Psychology, I turned 23, and I found out I got accepted into a graduate program. There was also a lot of fun trips this year, we went to Maine in the summer (and just got back from another Maine trip), we went to Wildwood, spent a night at the casino, and a few girls trip to Manchester Vermont. I took quite a few breaks from blogging this year but I truly believe that some breaks are needed to find your creativity and motivation again. I changed my blog name a few times. There was a lot of change in 2018 and most was good but I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings me!

I graduated from college with a bachelors in Psychology
I turned 23!
Took a trip to Maine for the first time in a while and had an amazing time with family!
Went to a casino and did not gamble all of my money away!
Took quite a few trips to my favorite place, Manchester Vermont.
My Goals for 2019:
For 2019 I have high hopes, I think every year should be started with a positive attitude or else it won’t be a positive year. That is also one of my goals for this year, to be a more positive person. I feel like I am pretty positive towards others but when it comes to myself I can really put my self down and be hard on my self and this year I really want to work on being more positive to myself.

For 2019 I also want to be healthier, this doesn’t necessarily mean that I want to lose weight, but just to be healthier in general. A bad habit I have is if I am super stressed out about school or life I will eat unhealthily or I’ll be lazy that day because “I deserve it” which I do believe in rewarding yourself and treating yourself but not every day, only when you do truly deserve it.

I also want to worry less this year about the small stuff. At the end of the day, my follower count on Instagram or page views does not determine my self-worth. I started this blog for a fun way to have a creative outlet and that's what it should be and shouldn't be something I'm constantly worrying about not being good enough. So this year I wanna go back to making this blog fun and not a constant worry.

Other than that I really just wanna sit back and see where this year takes me and which direction my life is headed. I feel like I’m in a big transition in my life, I just graduated college and started college back up so who knows what this year will bring but I’m really excited to find out.

Favorite Outfits of 2019

This is one of those posts that I love to write every year, I love to look back and reflect at all the
outfits that I have shown on my blog throughout the past year. I usually start with an outfit from the beginning of the year and go down throughout the year so these are in no particular order.

Thank you to everyone for all of the support you have given me on my blog this year. This truly is such a passion of mine and couldn't happen without all of you! Cheers to 2019 and all the good that is coming our way!
