Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This past week was the last week of school so I have a small break and then summer school starts right back up. School actually ended on Wednesday so I have been able to run errands this week and hanging out by the pool which has been so nice.

Weekend Happenings: This weekend is the Adirondack wine and food festival up in Lake George which has become a traditional event every year. It is typically the weekend of my birthday but they pushed it back a weekend this year. Last year is poured and this year it looks like thunder but hopefully, it is just a quick passing storm.

Things on the Internet:

  • Summer House: I know I am like super behind on this but I just finished the last episode of this season after binge-watching the entire past three seasons. Bravo shows are my guilty pleasure and now I desperately want a new one to watch. I really enjoyed Summer House I would have to say although she had her ups and downs these past few seasons Lindsey was my favorite.
  • Dunkin Donuts app: I hate reward systems that don't give you anything in return unless you spend literally thousands of dollars. The Dukin App is so awesome because you actually do get free drinks for your points (or maybe I spend WAY too much money there). Either way, I have found that Dunkin has the best rewards system.
Favorite Finds:
  • Patriotic no show socks: If you know me then you know that I am completely obsessed with J.Crew no show socks. Kyle bought me these for my birthday and it does not get much cuter or patriotic than puppies holding American flags.
  • Button Down Swing Dress: I bought this dress on Tuesday night for this weekend on Amazon prime. That is what I love about Amazon for last minute things or just completely forgetting you need a new outfit. Amazon prime has saved me so many different times and if it doesn't work out it is soooo easy to return!

A Day at Angry Orchard

This past weekend was my 24th birthday and we spent it at Angry Orchards in Weldon New York. Angry Orchard ciders are one of my favorite drinks so I was super excited that the orchard was pretty local to me. The grounds of the orchard are stunning and you can do a treehouse tour which was so beautiful to go up in.

I wore this J.Crew factory top from last season, I linked a few similar tops down below making this look easy to recreate. I also wore these gorgeous loft pants which I have been searching for, for such a long time. It is so hard to find good inexpensive pants that are the right length for me. All I wanted was a pair of white jeans with a raw hem in petite or short which are so hard to find! Old Navy has a few pairs that are so cute but they either come in regular or long. So when I found these at the Loft I fell in love with the double hem at the bottom.

I've also been obsessed with tucking all of my shirts in. I literally tuck every shirt I wear in, I just love the look that it gives the outfits.

Top: Old J.Crew Factory (Similar: Romwe | Tommy Hilfiger | Alice and Olivia) Jeans: Loft Shoes: Jack Rogers | Sunglasses: Clubmaster Raybans

When you get there they give you one free flight which was their pear cider, rose cider, and then one called bitter steve which is a cider only sold at the orchard. Then you could buy glasses of the different ciders and I got a frose (If that's how you spell frozen rose lol!). They also had a food truck which there was nothing about that on their website so I'm not sure if the truck is always there but it was so delicious. I had these chicken gyro taco things which were fabulous!

Where to Buy Cheap Workout Clothes

I am currently in the process of changing up my lifestyle to become a healthier person and with that comes working out. As many of you know working out can be hard if your head isn't in it. I have found that one thing that really helps me to get motivated is to have a cute outfit that I feel good in. I have also found that workout clothes can be EXTREMELY overpriced. Like so overpriced it can make a person become unmotivated to workout. Thankfully there are SOOO many ways to save and still get really cute outfits.

Marshals & TJ Maxx
I love going into marshals and TJ Maxx to get workout clothes because they always have name brand items that are on a really good sale like Adidas and Nike. But I also really love these places because I have been introduced to so many new brands that I love. Recently I found GAIAM high rise leggings (the ones linked are full price, you just have to look at marshals or TJ Maxx they usually have them, I think mine were like 15 dollars) which are so comfortable and are the perfect length on me which is really hard to find.

Old Navy & Gap
I combined Old Navy and Gap because I find their activewear lines to be very similar. These stores you have to watch because you can find some really good deals. I found a pair of workout shorts for like five dollars. But their clothes are also really good quality and very comfortable.

Amazon
I feel like this is a given, you can honestly find literally anything on Amazon at a reasonably good price if you look hard enough. But the one good thing about Amazon is they usually have amazing return policies. For me, this is a really good thing because pants are never the right length for me so its always a gamble when buying online if things will fit or not.

Target
I am obsessed with the Champion sneaker line at target right now. I have these Champion sneakers literally on right now. They have geofoam in the bottoms and it feels like you are walking on a cloud. I didn't really believe in the foam doing much until I tried on another pair of my sneakers and it felt like I was walking on cement. If you have not tried these sneakers I highly recommend them (I own two pairs of the same sneaker).

5 Things

1. Gingham tie-waist top
This J.Crew factory top is a favorite of mine from last year and they brought it back again this year! They even brought the style back in grey and white stripes which is on my list to buy. I love this top by itself but also under a cardigan is super cute.

2. Luke Combs Prequel
I swear Luke Combs cannot write a bad song even if he tired. The new prequel that he just came out with is even more proof that he is amazing and so talented. These 5 songs are the perfect blend of sad, make you feel something songs and party, scream-singing in the car songs. If you haven't heard/ really listen to "Even though I'm leaving" you need to stop what you are doing and go listen to it. I apologize in advance because you may shed a tear or two like I did.

3. Simply 7 Hummus Chips
I literally can't get enough of these chips, they are so good. I can't even describe the taste because it is not like anything I've ever had but if you like hummus then you will love these. And the best part is you can eat a bunch of them for only a few calories, gluten-free, non-GMO, and a ton of other great things. I love the sea salt ones because I can't find the other flavors but I bet they are good too.

4. Tula Face Cleanser
Tula Face Cleanser was one of the products in the spring fabfitfun box that I was really excited for. With my sensitive skin, it feels so good when I find a good cleanser that doesn't irritate my face. I have been really only using this cleanser and my skin has never looked better.

5. TAL Waterbottle
I have been obsessed with my Lilly Pulitzer swell waterbottle since I received it for my birthday last year. But I had been craving a water bottle that had a straw piece attached so it was easier for working out. I found this TAL waterbottle for only 11$ at Walmart!! I don't think I have ever drunk this much water but I love this water bottle so it is forcing me to drink more!

Sandal Picks Under $50

I personally think that the best part of the start of summer is that we can now officially break out our sandals. I love shoes and think they can be the cutest accessory but there is literally nothing worse than shoving your foot in an uncomfortable boot or shoe. There is nothing I love more than the freeing feeling of a sandal and especially a cute one!

So a lot of these sandals I have and love but a few like these knot slide sandals are so cute and at the top of my wishlist. I can't believe they are from Abercrombie, as I was searching for sandals I stumbled upon Abercrombie and all the middle school and early high school years came flashing back to me, but they actually have really cute stuff!

The first Sandal I have are these Selena Naked Block Heels which are literally the most perfect sandal for so many different occasions. I feel like every summer I search for the perfect sandal to wear with dresses that aren't going to make me feel like I'm breaking my ankles every time I'm walking. Well, I have finally found them! These Target sandals are so comfortable, the straps are super thin so it does not feel like you are wearing anything. The Milliana Slingback sandal is also perfect for summer, I love to wear them with white jeans to dress them up.

I also love love love the Georgica Sandals, I don't have the jelly ones but for $40 I may have to pick myself up a pair. They are such the perfect sandal for everyday wear as you can see from the picture above mine are pretty worn out. The summer slides from J.Crew factory are also such a good sandal for every day and come in so many colors including gingham which are so cute!

Quick Trip to NYC

Kyle and I recently took a super quick trip to NYC for a weekend. My parents went to the Dominican Republic for their 25th wedding anniversary and needed to be picked up at JFK so we decided to make a night of it.

Where we stayed:
We stayed at The Park Central hotel which is located on 7th avenue right next to central park. The hotel was very clean and every time I walked into the lobby I thought it smelled like baby powder. I get nervous and just go for something and I just booked a hotel or I would have driven myself crazy. So I accidentally booked us a room with two queen beds but the room was pretty big for NYC.

Where we ate:
Breakfast- I really wanted a bagel obviously for breakfast so pick a bagel was right next to our hotel so Saturday morning we waited in line. The bagels we very good, Kyle got blueberry and a plain and I got an everything bagel.

Lunch- Kyle is obsessed with the barstool and the pardon my take podcast and loves the "one bite everyone knows the rules" (if you don't know what that is it's pretty much pizza review). So Kyle really wanted to go to Angelos pizza which was given a 9.3 on the "one bite everyone knows the rule scale" so Ky was really excited to try it. It was honestly delicious and I really recommend it.

Dinner- All I wanted was a small fancy Italian restaurant to have a romantic dinner with Kyle. That was EXACTLY what Il Tinello Ristorante is! This small Italian restaurant is so worth the price I can't say enough good about this restaurant. I had the chicken piccata which may have been the best meal I have ever had accompanied by homemade tiramisu which melted in your mouth.

What we did:
Kyle and I both have had our eyes on Allbird sneakers for a while now and Kyle found out that there was an Allbirds store in the city so we had to go check it out. We both ended up getting a pair of sneakers so be on the lookout for that post coming soon. Kyle also really wanted to walk through central park which neither of us had done before so we walked a very small amount before heading back to the hotel. Later Saturday night we traveled over to Hoboken to meet up with some friends before picking my parents up at JFK. If you've never picked someone up at JFK consider yourself lucky, it was the worst thing ever but I was so grateful to have my parents home and safe!
