September Favorites

I can not believe how fast September went and that it is already October tomorrow! A lot happened in the month of September, I started another semester of college, I started a new job as a preschool teacher, and fall began this month! With a ton of different things happening within this month, my monthly favorites are a big mish-mosh of randomness. But I think that this is a good thing because these are honestly my favorite things of the month!

With school starting up this month I have been loving these colorful pens to use in my planner as a way to keep organized, and it's a fun way to remember things. I also always keep an umbrella with me, in upstate New York the weather can be winter in the morning and mid-summer in the afternoon, so you never know what could happen throughout the day and I like to stay prepared so I have been loving this Vera Bradley one!

With fall starting this month I have been diving into fall accessories and fall home decor and I have been obsessed with these J. Crew factory booties. I love the suede material and the light color will go with any outfit! And let's please take a moment to appreciate fall home decor, now I haven't gotten much but I would seriously burn fall candles all year round if it didn't annoy my family (lol).

Now ladies, I do have a nonmonthly favorite that unfortunately comes every month, I'm taking about  my "friend", my "aunt flow", my PERIOD. I know we all hate this time of the month, and for me it's especially hard due to my horrendous cramps that come along each month. But thankfully there are products that can help this to become a monthly favorite and that is the period pack, which is a monthly subscription that is coming soon to help to prepare yourself and make the week of your period a little easier check it out here at period-pack.com and sign up for emails to be notified when the boxes come out!

Don't forget to check out period-pack.com and let me know what your September favorites are!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

My Skin Care routine

Products: Get Your Glow On | 24Seven Day & Night Revitalizing Cream | Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser | Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment | Glam Glow super mud

My skin has been something that I have always struggled with and it has been on of my worst insecurities while growing up. I still struggle with my acne to this day, and it is something that I have begun to take more seriously as time has gone on. In the beginning, I usually would just cake on as much foundation as I possibly could. I will admit that I hid under my makeup in high school and the first year of college. I would not dare leave the house without my full foundation routine. My skin is still not where I want it to be but I love trying out new products to see what works the best.

I do have very sensitive skin, I tried proactive, which works well for some people, but not for me. I'm very allergic to benzoyl peroxide which is a main ingredient in proactive products. It makes my face usually around my chin and cheeks, swell up and get red and blotchy. Through the years I have learned what works for my skin and what does not. Neutrogena works really well for me and right now I have been loving their morning burst face wash.

In the morning and at night I have been loving the hey honey moisturizer. A few months ago I received a fairly large sample size of the hey honey facial moisturizer and I have been loving it so much that it is on my list of needs. It does not leave my skin feeling oily after application, and it is meant for morning and night.

I also use the clean and clear spot treatment. I have used this product for as long as I can remember, it leaves almost a tingling sensation on the skin after application and works really well. I literally think I have gone through almost 10 bottles of this product. It can come in a kit with other products to go along with it but I found that other products work better for me. Along with the clean and clear spot treatment, I also use the clean and clear morning burst facial cleanser and I love it! It makes your face really feel awake and fresh, it leaves a cooling sensation on your face after your done washing.

For the past couple of years, I have been going to a dermatologist office to also help with my skin blemishes. I use 4 products all together from my doctor, three are creams/ gels and the fourth is an antibiotic, but I didn't feel 100% comfortable with photographic that. The creams / gels that I have are to be used at different times during the day.

Morning: I only have one product from my doctor that is prescribed to be used in the morning. (Name of the red tube) is of a gel consistency and actually feels very refreshing going on in the morning time. The downside of this gel is that you have to wait a couple of minutes for the gel to completely dry or else it will peel off. Even sometimes when it is completely dry it will still peel off through my foundation. I also take one antibiotic pill in the morning.

Evening: I use two products in the evening time, the first is (name of green tube) and (name of white tube). The (green) has to go on first, and then 20 minutes later (white) has to go on. My doctor told me that the combination of these two products used right after the other will cause the pigment of the skin to turn orange. So I take this tip very seriously because I do not want orange skin.

Every now and then I also like to do a face mask I try to do at least one a week but no more than three a week. Currently, I have two favorites the first is the glam glow mud mask. I used to use this awhile ago, but the expensive cost made me slowly turn away from it. But a couple months ago I received this sample size in my ipsy box and remembered why I spent the money on the mask in the first place. I think now they have come out with smaller cheaper sizes. I am also currently loving this get your glow on peel off facial mask. It is so pleasing to peel this mask off and afterward my face feels so soft and rejuvenated.

Let me know down in the comments what your favorite skin care product is!!

Sleeveless Sweater Outfit

Outfit: J. Crew Factory: Sleeveless Turtleneck sweater | Hollister: Jean Leggings | Target: Lace-up Heels (Similar | Similar | Similar) | Kendra Scott: Similar

I am so in love with sleeveless sweaters for this season. A few weeks ago I went shopping at the outlets and saw this and could not say no. I think this sweater is the perfect transition top from summer into fall, and then add a long sleeve tee underneath for when it gets colder. I was a little nervous at first about the fabric because my skin is so sensitive, but it ended up being a lot softer than I had originally planned. This sweater also comes in black and a maroon color which may be future purchases for me because I like this sweater so much!

I have worn these jeans in so many different posts, (here and here) I pretty much live in these jeans. They are jeggings so they're so soft and comfortable. I love the look of dark jeans because you can dress it up or dress it down. I love the dark with the light sweater.

These shoes are first of all amazing, I bought these from target for my 21st birthday and they are unfortunately sold out. But the good news is, is there are so many other pairs of shoes that are just like these. I linked a few of my favorites up above. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own but they are so cute I love them!

Ipsy Bag | September 2016

Sign up for an ipsy bag here!

I have been subscribed to ipsy for a little over a year now and I am still as obsessed today as I was a year ago. It is so fun not knowing what you're getting each month, it's like a little gift. This month was one of my favorites, although most of the items are samples sizes it's perfect to try out products and to throw in your travel bag! I think I'll be getting the most use out of the liquid eyeliner and the tarte mascara.

To be honest I used to get the birchbox subscription as well but I wasn't the biggest fan and actually unsubscribed. But I am always looking for new boxes to review and try out. One on my list of wanting is the bark box for my little pups so that box should be coming soon.

Sorry for such a short post today I have been crazy busy this past week and I hope to be back to post at least twice a week by the end of this week!

Sundress at the Hildene House

This past weekend was my brother's girlfriend's (Kaitlin) birthday, so for the day we took a trip to Vermont to visit the Hildene house. The Hildene was the home to Abraham Lincoln's oldest son, Robert Todd Lincon. This home was the home of descendants from Abraham Lincon all the way until 1975 when the last direct descendant passed away and then the house was preserved and made into a landmark. This historical site is gorgeous, my cousin actually got married here a year ago. It was amazing to walk around the grounds and learn new historical facts.

Outfit: Old Navy: Sleeveless knit swing dress (Similar) | Old Navy: Belt | Nautica: Bow sandals |   Fossil: Sunglasses

The first stop we made while walking the grounds was at the formal gardens which were located in the back of the house. I didn't take many pictures on the inside of the house because I just wanted to take it all in. But the outside was too gorgeous not to.

The house itself was gorgeous and also huge! The tour guide told us that there were over 20 rooms and this was meant to be a small family home and not entertaining people. It is considered to be a small cape meant for just the family members.

The next place we walked to on the grounds was the farm where there were goats and a building which was where they produced goat milk and goat cheese. The goats were very talkative that day and it was actually quite funny.

The last place we visited was an old train that was actually the home to FDR when he was on the road. It was beautiful and I would not have minded traveling in one of these trains!

Overall it was a beautiful day and a great way to celebrate Kaits birthday!
Happy birthday Kaitlin!!

Favorite Fall Booties

I have to say that my biggest fall obsession may be booties. I think that it's because my legs are so short that riding boots can sometimes make me look shorter than I already am. But lucky for me booties are in just as much (maybe even more!) this year than they were last year. Booties can range is so many different prices I just bought the Sawyer suede boot from J crew factory over the weekend and I could not be more excited to wear them! I love the look of the cut outs on the side of the boots it gives it such a unique look, I'm so excited to see where the fall brings me in the shoe department!

Lilly Pulitzer Popover

Lilly Pulitzer: Skipper Popover | Old Navy: Twill Shorts | Nautica: Bow strap sandals |
 Kate Spade: Eyeglasses

I'm back after my long weekend of being up at the lake and spending quality family time with almost my entire extended family, I was a little tired. So I decided to take Monday off, but I am back and super excited about today's post! This is one of my picks from the after Lilly sale and I love it! This will be the perfect transition outfit for class because it is so cold in the mornings and so warm in the afternoon.

This cute little puppy in today's post is my Havanese dog named Maris. We are huge Yankee fans in my house so her name is Maris after the famous Yankee player Rodger Maris. I think it is amazing how much of a personality she has compared to her sister (you will see her later). She is crazy and hyper but also so sweet!

Sunflower Fields | Labor Day Weekend

Banana Republic: Romper | Nautica: Bow sandals | Fossil: Sunglasses |

I can't believe Labor day weekend is already here, it feels like summer just began. This weekend we will be heading up to the lake for one of the last times this season. I'm super excited because Kyle is coming home on today, and we are having a really big family party up at the lake.

I bought this romper a long time ago, I think it was in the beginning of the summer maybe. But I have loved it ever since I bought it. It is from Banana Republic factory and right now it is on sale for only 13.98$ which is amazing because it is such good quality. I think the colors of this romper are perfect for Labor Day.

I hope everyone has an amazing long weekend!!
