October 2016 Recap (Birthdays, Car Accident, and Halloween!)

I cannot believe that October is over already, this month is always packed full of events and always flies by but it feels like this month went by particularly faster. This month started off with Kyles birthday, we went apple picking and got apple cider and cider doughnuts. They were delicious and he was a very happy man.

Then came my mom's birthday and we had some dinner at home and hung out as a family. I made her a chocolate cherry chip birthday cake with homemade strawberry frosting, it was delicious!
This post can be seen here! My momma is so cute!

With this month being the month of Halloween I got into the holiday spirit with a graphic tee and some pumpkins, check it out here!

During the beginning of this month, I was waiting at a stop light on my way home from school and I got rear-ended. Thankfully no one was hurt in this situation, things can be replaced, but people can not.

On Thursday, October 27th an amazing thing happened... my mom, my sister and I went to a Carrie Underwood concert and it was nothing less than amazing. We had such a great night the three of us and even though it snowed that day, nothing was going to ruin our excitement. We have all been huge fans of Carrie Underwood since she was on American Idol. There is so much talent in that women and it is definitely a must see show if she comes to your town!

This Halloween weekend I went up to Kyles school to visit him along with some of our other friends. It is always so fun to see Kyle because I miss him so much while he is at school. But we are almost done with this awful situation of long distance and it will all be worth it at the end! Kyle and I went as a Christmas tree and a Christmas present!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Thankful for Pumpkins

Target: Halloween Tee | Nordstrom: Jeans (similar) | L.L Bean: Freeport field jacket | Ankle boots (similar) | Kate Spade: Demi Eyeglasses

I really love the fall time, it is my favorite time of the year, but I am not that crazy over Halloween. So today I have on a spooky shirt to get me more in the mood for the spooky holiday. I wanted a shirt that was festive for Halloween but not too much so I thought this one was perfect!

This past weekend we went pumpkin picking, but it was pouring rain out so we didn't get any pictures which was so disappointing. Then we went out to my favorite Mexican restaurant and I had the most delicious taco salad. And yet again I am the world's worst blogger because I forgot to take a picture, but it was delicious! So on Sunday we took some pictures with the pumpkins we got, and Sunday the weather was gorgeous!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Fall Home Decor Inspiration

            Bedding one                                                                      Bedding two

So the fall months is all about being cozy and warm and hot coffee and warm scarfs, but nothing is better than coming home to your warm, comfy, and cozy BED! The company Crane and Canopy have the BEST bedding ever! How cozy do these bedding sets look? I am obsessed with everything that this store has between the duvet covers and the quilts they are so cute! These bed sets make leaving your bed even harder than it was before.

 Centerpiece 1                                               Centerpiece 2
I love fall centerpieces for tables, and pumpkins are perfect I found both of these on Pinterest and I think they are amazing. There is nothing more festive than sitting around a table having a meal and also having a gorgeous centerpiece to make the whole dining room feel cozy.

Entry way 1                                                                  Entry way 2

I love a fall decorated entry way, I love that it is the first thing people see when they walk in. There is just something so inviting about cozy pillows and some pumpkins as you walk into someone's home. I love entry ways in general but then add then some fall decor and I am all over that.

I hope this post gave you some inspiration on how to decorate your house for fall,  I love fall decorating and Halloween decor and turkey day decor it's so fun!

Lilly in The Fall

Lilly Pulitzer: Isabelle Vest, also here | Lilly Pulitzer: Diana Pullover cashmere sweater, Similar here | Hollister: Jeans | J Crew: Sawyer suede booties | Kendra Scott: Elisa pendant necklace

I love Lilly Pulitzer, it's another bummer of the summer (HA that rhymed) when the Lilly dresses have to go into hibernation for a few months. But there is a solution and I found it! I bought this puffer vest during the Lilly sale and have been waiting for the perfect moment to bring it out. I love it and the inside is a gorgeous print. This cashmere Lilly sweater looks perfect with it and is so warm. I wore this outfit to my little sister's football game and it was perfect in the chilly weather we are having. Let's talk about these booties! I am obsessed with them and have not taken them off! I love the suede material and they aren't too tall of a heel so they are really comfortable.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

DIY Brush Cleaner | My Favorite Brushes

I don't know about you but I hate cleaning my makeup brushes and I do not do it as much as I should. But it just takes so long and to be honest it is no fun. So I found a good solution on Pinterest on how to make it a little more fun because you get to mix things (anything helps).

For this mixture, all you need is dish soap or baby wash and olive oil. The olive oil protects the brushes and doesn't strip the nutrients from the hairs. I just dipped my brushes in the dish soap and then the olive oil, I don't think it matters which you do first as long as you get both substances on the brush together.

I just used dawn dish soap and the extra virgin olive oil that we had in the kitchen. I like using this brush cleaner because it uses household items that we always have in the house.

After the mixture is put on the brush I just rubbed the brushes on a plate until the plate was covered in makeup then rinsed and repeated until the water ran clear.

Then I just laid the brushes out to dry and they will be ready to use in the morning. I really like this mixture but I did find a ton of others on Pinterest so I think I may do a different mixture the next time I clean my brushes.

These are my favorite brushes at the moment. I really like the elf brushes because they are so cheap but actually work really well. The pink and the blue brushes are from my ipsy bag subscription. The small angled eye brush frome Luxie I use to do my eyebrows with the elf eyebrow kit and it works so well.  The blue brush is also by luxie it is the tapered highlighting brush and I mainly use this brush for highlighter and sometimes blush.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Apple Picking Blues

                                                                       Outfit
Gap: V-neck cozy sweater | J.Crew: Puffer vest | Hollister: Super skinny jeans | Target: Nude flats |
Kendra Scott: Pendant necklace

This past weekend was Kyles birthday weekend and all he wanted was apple cider doughnuts and some cold apple cider, and I was not about to veto this idea. We went to a cute apple orchard about 30 minutes away from our house and had an amazing time picking apples and eating doughnuts!

It was pretty chilly when we went so this gap sweater was perfectly paired with my J. Crew puffer vest. This sweater was so soft I feel in love with it the second I touched it, its perfect for fall and comes in soooo many other colors. I went with the blue because I have so many cream or black sweaters and wanted to switch it up. And this color is just so pretty! This J.Crew puffer vest will always be one of my staples in the fall months I would wear this vest every day if I could.

I hope everyone has a good week!
