Pinterest Hack FAIL

There are so many different hacks on Pinterest for so many aspects of life. Clothing hacks, makeup hacks, food hacks... you want a shortcut for something? Pinterest is your answer. Now I have seen quite a few people successfully do this Pinterest hack so I'm not 100% sure that I did this correctly. There are a couple of things that could have gone wrong during the process such as, I used the wrong alcohol content (Which I did not even know was a thing, to be honest with you.) I also could have added in too much rubbing alcohol, it could also be the something with the product and the reaction to the rubbing alcohol. Regardless of what the problem was, I did not do this correctly. I actually had to do this process twice on two different products, the first was on my favorite pixie bronzer that I really wanted it to work on. But it didn't and then I accidentally deleted the photos (was not a good day). So I figured I would try it again and as you can see it did not end up working. I even used a different rubbing alcohol content and it still didn't work. So please if you have any tips for me please let me know because I really want this to work.

So here is what I did...

What you need: A broken makeup product | Rubbing alcohol | saran wrap | dropper | and a tool to pat down the product, I just used a spoon.

So this first step is to cover the product with saran wrap and completely break up the product so that it becomes more of a powder. Then add a few drops of rubbing alcohol until completely covered. Then I used my spoon to flatten down the product and leave to dry.

This is what the finished product looks like and continued to look like. This product never dried and stayed this wet goopy consistency. It also stained my fingers for days which I thought was very odd. So if you know what I did wrong let me know!

Snapchat Lately

Out of all of the apps, I would have to say that snapchat is my favorite one. I love how it allows you to see a glimpse into people's lives and to see usually what they are eating and my personal favorite their pets. I recently made a snapchat dedicated to just my blog and I am pretty excited about it. I feel as though snapchat is a more personal social media outlet and I really like that.  So here is a glimpse into what you can see on my snapchat:

How cute are these?!?! These were the Valentine's day cards that I made for my preschool class. We had a snow day and my mom and I spent the morning making these and we had so much fun. We picked out all the red, pink, purple, and white crayons and broke them all up. Then we put pieces into each section of a heart shaped ice cube tray, then melted them down in the oven. They were actually so much fun to make and my kiddies loved them.

The view from the top of Mount Snow in Vermont is absolutely amazing. It is completely freezing and literally takes your breath away because of the wind and low temperature. But this view is so worth it along with the ride down which is equally amazing. Mount snow is my favorite ski mountain for many reasons and this view is #1. I tried to get another picture but my fingers felt like they were going to fall off.

This semester I am taking 2 online classes along with 3 in-class classes and the online classes are more work then I think I have ever had to do for one class. I am feeling so swamped with work this semester and it is a constant flow of work.

This past weekend we went to a new home decor store called At home, because I was looking for a storage unit for my makeup (coming to the blog soon). This place was more for decor items which was amazing and there was so many things to look at. There were 3 or 4 isles of just throw pillows that looked just like this, I loved it, I have to go back and pick up some things.

I am obsessed with the snapchat filters I think they can be so cute and so hysterical. My mom and I think it is hilarious to make my dad do them, which of course he hates then thinks they are so funny once he see's them. I love this filter and the one that makes your mouth look huge it reminds me of the annoying orange that used to be popular on youtube.

Add me on snapchat so we can be friends my username is: petiteinpearls

Leaping Into Spring

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for spring to be here. I am really over this freezing cold weather and having to wear heavy winter jackets. Luckily this week so far has been in the 40's and that feels like summer compared to what it has been. I am trying to make it feel even more like spring through my wardrobe with bright colors and spring shoes. How cute is this lace up shirt from Old Navy? This top came in a couple other colors and I am really considering buying some.

Outfit: Old Navy: Lace up shirt | Hollister: Jeans | Target: Canvas sneakers | Dogeared: pearl of love necklace | Fossil: Leather watch

One of the things that I am most excited for spring for is the shoes, and I am loving these gray sneakers. These canvas sneakers are from target and they come in so many different colors and patterns. While taking these pictures they got super muddy but the dirt just wiped off and they were easily cleaned. Target has some of the cutest shoes, I have my eye on these slip-on sneakers which are a perfect dupe of the Steve Madden Leather slip-on sneakers. I also want these scalloped red flats, I have a black pair from old navy, but you can never have enough scallops in your closet.

Products I Wouldn't Buy Again

These are my opinion on these certain products, there are products from these companies that I love, these ones just didn't work for me.

1. Salon Graphic dry shampoo - This dry shampoo left my hair feeling super wet and more like hair spray then the powder substance that makes up dry shampoo. I felt as though it made my hair look dirtier than it was before

2. They're real mascara -  I know that this is a big favorite for a lot of people but I personally did not like the application of it or the look. I love benefit products and their other mascaras but I didn't like this one. It left my eyelashes feeling clumpy and wet, whereas I like my mascara full and plumped.

3. Beauty 360 makeup wipes - These makeup wipes were not very easy to use to get makeup off. These really tugged at my skin and if you're a frequent reader then you know I have super sensitive skin. They really left my skin feeling irritated and red, this could be because of my skin or just the product itself I'm not really sure.

4. Waver Curling iron - My mom actually got this for Christmas and she was really excited to use it, but after we all used it we were very disappointed. It leaves your hair looking like your brushed out your hair after you curled it. It was frizzy and uncurled. Although I wouldn't recommend this product I'm not giving up on it quite yet, I want to play with it and see if I can work with it.

5. L'oreal heat protectant - This left my hair feeling super oily as if spraying oil right onto your hair. It is advertised to supposed to cut any dry time but didn't and ended up making my hair feel worse and dirty after it was just washed.

Friday Five

1. These Valentine's day flowers that Kyle bought for me this past weekend. They are a positive reminder that spring is coming, and I really need that right now because it is freezing outside. I love the snow because I love to ski and I love how beautiful it looks. But to be honest I'm really starting to get over it, I can't wait to be able to wear bright colors and not have to lug around a huge coat.

2. Tone it up: I love the tone it up girls, their workout videos are amazing and they are so cute and so fun to watch that it makes you want to work out. Last night I did their booty workout with Becca from the bachelor and I also did their easy arm workout. They have their own website where you can get tone it up apparel and their meal/workout plan.

3. These Clinique Crayola lipsticks: How cute are these lipsticks??? These are definitely on my wishlist, I love the colors and the look of the packaging totally sold me on how much I actually wanted these. This reminds me of the DIY's that are all over Pinterest on how to melt down crayons and make them into lipsticks (I think these might look better than that DIY).

4. Issues by Julia Michaels: I have been listening to this song on repeat, if you haven't heard this song you need to, it is so good!

5. Presidents day weekend: Look out for all the deals this weekend. I know that I will be, places like JCrew, banana republic, and Old Navy are going to have really good deals this weekend. Happy shopping!

My Favorite Winter Fleeces

This winter I have been obsessed with warm fleece pullovers, they are literally all I have been wearing, I live in them. I have a bunch of them and just rotate through them throughout the week, it's so nice to come home and throw one on and chill out and do some work. I love the look of a fleece with a pair of dark jeans and bean boots or Hunter rain boots. I have come up with this list of my favorites.

Patagonia re-tool snap-T fleece pullover - This is my all time favorite fleece it is so cozy and so warm I never want to take it off. It is super lightweight but keeps you so warm, so it doesn't feel bulky at all. I love the snaps instead of a zipper for a unique touch.

L.L. Bean Sweater Fleece Pullover - Kyle and I celebrated our Valentines day this past weekend and while we were waiting for our dinner reservations we walked around the mall a little bit. Kyle loves L.L. Bean so of course, we stopped in there to look around, and I saw this pullover and fell in love. I wish I saw it a couple of weeks ago because I probably would have to ask Kyle for this for valentines day, and I'm sure he would have too because he loved the men's version.

Osito Fleece Hoodie - Kyle got this for me for Christmas after I snapped a picture of it to him, not thinking he would actually go out and get it, but he did and I could not be happier. I have the black one but the navy is so pretty too. It is so soft it literally feels like you are wearing a blanket. And the hood is so oversized it feels like you are cocooned in the sweatshirt.

Better Sweater 1/4 Zip Fleece - This is definitely going to be my next purchase from Patagonia. I love the zipper on the arm, I don't know why but it reminds me of something you would wear skiing. This comes in so many colors but I love this raspberry color it is so pretty and vibrant.

Fleece Shep Shirt - I love shep shirts, I love the idea that they can be dressed up and dressed down but they are so comfortable. This fleece one looks so comfortable and the best part is that it is on sale right now.

Harborside Fleece Pullover Jacket - This jacket from Colombia is so cute, I love the gray and the light blue it is so pretty together. This fleece looks more athletic than the others but equally as comfortable. This fleece is also on sale for under 50 dollars which is such a good deal!

My Dream Wedding dress | Aislestyle

One thing that I love to do is day dream about what my wedding day will be like. What kind of dress I will wear, what kind of venue it will be at, what color my bridesmaid’s dresses will be? There are so many things that go through my mind when I think of my big day, but the one thing that I think about the most is my wedding dress. These days wedding dresses can be so expensive, if you have watched an episode of say yes to the dress then you know how much money some of the girls on that show drop on wedding dresses. Thankfully there are other options out there for wedding dresses that are not as expensive. Aisle style has amazing cheap wedding dresses that are so gorgeous. I have picked out a couple that are my favorites.

This first dress is my absolute favorite dress, if I were to pick out my wedding dress right now this would hands down be the dress that I would pick. This is the Informal shoulder straps backless tulle beach wedding dress and it is on 89.99$ which blew me away I couldn't believe it.  I really love the thin spaghetti straps and the skirt just looks so fluffy and light. I also love how the back is so open and really gives off a romantic feel.

This second dress is also one of my favorites, this is a spaghettie strap lace bodice split long chiffon wedding dress. I love the look of this lace wedding dress which also has the thin spaghetti straps, I am a huge fan of the thin spagetti straps. Aislestyle has so many lace wedding dresses and they are all so gorgeous. This dress is very similar to the first one but just has that extra element of lace. I would definitely have a hard time picking from the two of these dresses.

This third dress is a Sheath strapless lace open back long wedding dress. This one is a little different than the first two but it is equally as gorgeous. This dress is priced at only 179$ which is amazing. I am always a fan of strapless dresses, wedding dress or not. I love how the unique detailing on this dress really makes it stand out from other dresses. I love the neckline and how perfect a simple silver necklace would look with this gown.

Aislestyle.co.uk has some of the most amazing wedding gowns at amazing prices. This is the perfect website for any bride on a budget looking for an amazing deal. Their customer services is so helpful and it’s a really good company. I love to browse the dress and check out which ones I could see myself in some day.
