What I Bought From the Sale

I bought this dress from the sale, and it is actually the only thing that I bought because this girl has got textbooks to buy. But much like every year this year I had something in mind that I wanted while going into the sale. One year I really wanted a popover another year I really wanted a shift. This year I wanted a more casual sleeveless dress. I have two Marlow t-shirt dresses and a short sleeve dress similar to the short sleeve Marlow dress.

So this year I bought a Margot swing dress, this dress really caught my eye because I can see it being worn to so many different events. I really wanted a dress that could be worn casual but also dressed up and I think this is the perfect dress for that.

Today is the last day of the sale so let me know what you got from the sale!!

Weekly Review/ Weekend Happenings | Rosegal Wishlist

Favorite finds of the week:

  • Rosegal: I am getting into the fall mood and I'm loving all of their sweaters and ankle boots.
  • Casual maxi dresses: As the summers get closer to ending the nights begin to get colder as well as the days. I love maxi dresses on cooler days where it starts off cold and gets hotter as the day goes on.
Favorite things on the internet:
  • Beaches TBT: I love this TBT photo that Mayim Bialik put up on her Instagram account. The caption is so cute, I love how it shows how the movie was made.

Weekly Review: This past weekend my friends and I went to the Saratoga race track and then out in Saratoga. The racetrack is always such an experience but it was so nice to spend the day and have a good time with my friends. During this past week, I have also been getting ready to go back to school on Monday, I'm ready to have a strict routine again but I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer.
I also went to my first paint and sip on Thursday and it was amazing, we painted a beautiful tree with mason jars hanging down looking like there were lightning bugs in them. It was the perfect picture for the end of summer.

Weekend Happenings: This weekend is a big one, I could NOT be more excited. This weekend is the Luke Bryan concert and I have been looking forward to this all summer. It will be the perfect way to end summer!

Planner Guide

I love my planner, especially during school because I rely on it so much. If I didn't have my planner I would be a mess. I write everything in mine, even little things like my work schedule which doesn't ever change.
These are a few planners that I've used or plan to use in the future.

All of these are so different in their own way, The last one is only a mini binder and I love the idea of this because you can make it the way that you want it by using free printables that you can find on pintrest. I use this for my blog planning which is nice because it allows for a lot of room to write and to be able to customize it for the best way that works for me.

I like more of a structured layout such as in the Lilly Pulitzer one and the Vera Bradley one for school because it is easier to write out assignments. Which ones do you use?

Happy weekend!!

Travel Guide | Myrtle Beach South Carolina

Every year my family and I make the long, long, long car ride down to Myrtle beach for a family vacation. Since we do it every year we have found a few gems of dining and activities. We love it in Myrtle Beach and we really love to eat down there.

What we did:
  • The beach: We love to spend all day down at the beach, most of the time we are taking walks while looking for shark teeth. We made it a competition this year to try to fill a glass bottle but failed due to them being very hard to find. The boys really enjoy riding the boogie boards while the girls relax in the sun.
  • Broadway at the Beach: This is a place that is filled with amazing restaurants and attractions like zip lining and an aquarium. We waited 3 hours to eat the Paula Deen restaurant but it was so worth it and we had a lot of time to explore the shops.
  • Barefoot Landing: This place is very similar to Broadway but with more shops like black and white market and Francesca's. We went wine tasting here and had wine slushies which were delicious!

Where we ate:
  • Damons: This restaurant is located on the beach and walking to it from our hotel has become one of our favorite traditions. They are known for their ribs and they were so delicious. While we were eating there, there was a wedding happening on the beach which was so cute to watch.
  • The Chesapeake House: This restaurant is known for their seafood and their alligator. Outside the restaurant, there is an alligator that lives in the pond and will come up to the fence if you feed it food. It's so cool, and if the alligator is full there is a ton of hungry turtles.
  • Paula Deen's Family Kitchen: Oh my god, if you ever get the chance to go to one of these restaurants I highly recommend that you do. It is served family style and you pick three entries, four sides, and a dessert for everyone is included. We got pot roast, chicken pot pie, fried chicken, green beans, mac and cheese, candied yams, mashed potatoes, and an ooey gooey butter cake for dessert.
  • Umberto's: This is an Italian restaurant which may be my favorite restaurant of all time. First thing they give you is bean and greens, then a cucumber with tomato and onions salad, then spaghetti and sauce, then you get your entree. It is so much food but it is so delicious.
Where we stayed:

  • The compass Cove: This year we stayed in a gorgeous three bedroom condo with the most amazing view. It was so nice to have two bathrooms and everyone to have a bed, so no one had to sleep on a pull-out couch. It also came with a washer and dryer in the room and my mom was so thrilled. Another bonus is the pools at this hotel, there is two lazy rivers, multiple pools and hot-tubs and a pretty big kids area.
Overall we are all so grateful for the time we got to spend in South Carolina and grateful for the time spent together...and that the ride is done.

Gingham Off The Shoulder Top

Outfit: Rosegal: Gingham dress | Old Navy: belt | Jack Rogers: Sandals | Kate Spade: Satchel | Kendra Scott: Necklace

I recently wore this off the shoulder dress to dinner from Rosegal on my vacation. If you've seen any of my outfit posts you would know that this season for me has been the season of off the shoulder. This dress was so fun and I love the gingham print. I added a belt to give it more of a shape but it doesn't need one. This was the perfect beach dress!

He knows how to make me the happiest person in the world and I could not be more grateful for that. He is my person and even though it's only been 3 years it feels like we've been together forever and I can imagine my life without this crazy, happy, amazing person.

Tips to Make a Long Car Ride Easier

1. Download podcasts to listen to. Some of my favorites include: lady loving by hilly Hendricks, Greta Titleman, and Lo Bosworth Views by David Dobrick and Jason Nash and not too deep by Grace Helbig

2. Don't pack snacks I know this is a weird one but for me, this helps to break up the ride. We tend to make many stops because driving with 7 people someone always has to go to the bathroom. So I like to pick up new snacks when we stop to keep things fresh and interesting. Many rest stops now have a fresh station where you can buy fresh fruit and cheese which are some more healthy options. That's where I always start and then slowly make my way to the junk food as the car ride gets longer.

3. Play car games such as "I'm going on a picnic and I'm bringing a..." 1st person brings something that begins with the letter a and then you keep going until someone messes up.

4. Drink lots of water, we drive from New York to South Carolina which is almost 17 hours. It's very hard to stay awake for that long so drinking water is super important.

5. Think of what is coming at the end when you're laying out on the beach it will all be worth it!

I hope these help a little!!

Beach Bag Essentials

Right now I am living out of my beach bag because my days are filled with the beach and pool. As you may know, if you are a reader of my blog, my family and I are on our annual family vacation. Every year we drive down to Myrtle Beach and spend the entire day relaxing on the beach and then enjoying a nice dinner and some activities at night.

When I say we spend all day at the beach I mean we spend the entire day down at the beach and all of us wouldn't have it any other way. But being down at the beach so much my beach bag essentials come in super handy.

A towel: This one seems pretty obvious to me but it is super fun to use a nice one. I really want to invest in a super nice one but I can't justify spending a ton of money on something that is thrown in the sand. I use a Victoria Secret one that I received as a free gift and I love it.

Sunscreen: I have three sunscreen essentials the one is a face sunscreen which I think is the most important object in your beach bag. This is the Avene ultra light hydrating sunscreen for the face. It's very light and doesn't leave your face feeling greasy. The second sunscreen essential is the Australian Gold sunscreen spray gel. My skin is so sensitive to oils and creams that anything else makes me break out into hives. This is the only one I can find that my skin is okay with, I really like it because it's a mix between a spray and a lotion for super easy application. My third sunscreen essential is a chapstick with a sunscreen built in. I love Pacifica sun lip balm, I have a bunch that I use because I always end up losing them.

Sunhat: My eyes are so sensitive to the sun and there is nothing worse than a sunburn on the top of your head so this makes a sunhat a key essential. I am loving the blue and white ribbon on this one from target, you can see how I styled it for the lake in my post here.

Sunglasses: Like I said my eyes are so sensitive to the sun so sunglasses are a must, I have a pair of pink ones from Kate Spade which are my favorite but here is a similar pair and a cheaper pair here.

A good book: I am a sucker for a good easy beach read. My go to is a Nicholas Sparks book, His new one titled Two by Two looks like its a really good one.

Beach cover up: This Micheal Star scarf can be worn in so many different ways that it makes the best cover up. It can be worn as a skirt and wrap around dress. I've been living in it while at the beach.

weekly review/ Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: This past week was my last week at my summer job which is a bitter sweet moment because I am sad that it is over but I am so excited to go on my vacation tomorrow. This week was very low key not much happened other than getting ready for vacation.

Weekend Happenings: This weekend looks like a lot of open roads and rests stops. Tomorrow morning we leave for a 17-hour car ride to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. So we leave on Saturday and we will arrive there early afternoon on Sunday.

Favorite things on the internet:

Few favorites of the week
  • Babe rosé (for my 21 and over readers): This rosé in a can is my favorite summer beverage and it is so convenient that it is in a can which makes it so easy for the lake and the beach. Anything with cute packaging I am a sucker for, which is why I tried this drink in the first place.
  • Degree deodorant motion sense: I just borrowed some of this deodorant from my mom one day while I was in a rush before work and I could smell it all day long. I literally ran out to target that night and bought some for myself. I highly recommend this product.
  •  Joy little miss steamer: My aunt recently told me about this steamer and talked so highly of it that I had to go get one. I have to say she was so right about it. It is so much more convenient than ironing and takes half the time. I also have it in purple so it is so cute!!

My Favorite Summer PJ's

I feel as though pajamas are something that I mainly talk about during the winter months because I love cozy fleece pajamas more than anything. But earlier this week I realized that I've never talked about my summer pajamas which I love almost as equally as winter ones. I love these pajamas because they are so light and airy, the worst is when you're sleeping and your clothes are sticking to you due to the heat. These are so nice because they are cotton on the back and a silk like material on the front which makes them super comfortable.

I am in the process of making a gallery wall above my bed. I didn't know how much I was going to love it until I put it up and took a step back to look at it! A lot of these pieces I had around my house so now I'm on the hunt for a couple new things to add. I'm going for a black, white, and gold theme. Most of my room is gray and white so I thought the black was a nice touch. One thing I didn't realize about doing a gallery wall is how high it makes my wall look now. It looks as if it added a couple inches and really opens the room up. I always think it is so amazing how one little change can make the whole look of the room different. I'll keep you updated as I add a couple more things to the wall.
