Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings

Weekly Review: On Monday I had my first full day of classes, I only have classes on Mondays so that way I can focus on my internship and work the rest of the week. Other than classes the rest of the week was pretty low key because work and my internship haven't started yet.

Weekend Happenings: Tonight I am going to the Zac Brown Band concert which I'm sooo excited for. Then tomorrow I am heading to the lake to spend some much-needed friend time and then Sunday I am going to a picnic at my grandparent's house. It's going to be a busy weekend but a fun one!

A Few Thoughts on Bachelor in Paradise:

  • Okay, I have many thoughts on this season of paradise... first of all so happy for Krystal and Goose, Krystal looked beautiful!
  • Shame on JPJ for going at Derek like that at someone's wedding regardless of how you are feeling a wedding is not the place to express it unless its love!
  • I know Blake has made a bunch of mistakes and isn't everyone's favorite person but people at the wedding were pretty mean to him!
  • Everyone saw what was coming with Kaylin and Dean but my thoughts about Dean are if you didn't want a relationship then WHY DID YOU COME TO PARADISE WHEN THE WHOLE POINT IS TO GET IN A RELATIONSHIP. That just really annoyed me.
  • I really don't know how to feel about the Angela and Clay thing.
Recent Finds:
  • Kiss Dip: The brand Kiss now makes a dip powder and I really like it! You can see the color in the picture in my Current Beauty Favorites post. They had a few other colors including a pretty red and a blue. I bought mine at Walmart for only 6 dollars which was super convenient.
  • My Current Beauty Favorites: This post which I published on Wednesday has a few of my recent favorites in the beauty category!

Current Beauty Favorites

Today I am sharing a few of the beauty products that I have been currently loving this summer!

Sephora Face Mask: I have talked about how sensitive my fave is on here so much (you're probably over it I'm sorry) but for all my sensitive skin gals out there these face masks are gold. These are one of the few face masks that don't irritate my skin and I love them. They are so effortless and leave my face feeling so soft and clean.

Voluminous Mascara: This is hands down my favorite drugstore mascara ever. It reminds me a lot of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I would say it's a pretty good dupe. I also love the hydrofuge mascara, their waterproof version which was perfect for summer.

Kokie Concealer: I received this concealer in one of my Ipsy bags a few months ago and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. This concealer is light and lasts all day long without getting greasy. I love finding new companies and brands within my Ipsy products.

St. Tropez Lotion: So I was paying for a spray tan membership for about half of the summer and then one day I couldn't make it there in time for an event so I just did it myself. Comparing the two, the spray tan with the self-tanner, I liked the end result of the self-tanner a lot better than the spray tan. So I canceled my membership and bought more St. Tropez.

Tarte Blush: This is another Ipsy item that I fell in love with which is weird because I'm really not a blush person. This blush is really warm so it has a tint of bronze which may be why I like it. Shoutout to Ipsy for another great product! Would you guys like to see an Ipsy review and my thoughts of the subscription???

Rusty Pants

Top: Loft Factory old (Similar) (Similar) | Pants: Old Navy | Sweater: Old (Similar) | Tote: Barrington | Shoes: Restricted (Different shoe same brand)

I am officially back from vacation and have started my first day of classes so it only feels right (unfortunately) to post a cozy cardigan outfit. I know I have said this before but I will say it again... I love shirts for summer that can transition to fall! The button-up look was so popular this summer I really hope it continues into the fall. The one I'm wearing is from the loft which is sold out but there are so many dupes online like this one from Amazon

These shoes are one of my favorite Marshals finds! I couldn't find these exact one online but I have linked here. I love the style of all of the restricted shoes. I think the open sides on these shoes are so cute and unique.

To be honest, I was soooo hot taking these photos and I love summer so much but once school starts back up I do get a little more excited for fall. And fall is coming if we like it or not!

Jonas Brothers: This past Monday I went to the Jonas Brothers concert which was AMAZINGG!! I loved them when I was little and then I found out I was going to the concert so I started listening to their new stuff which is equally AMAZINGG. The concert was an amazing experience, hands down the loudest concert I have ever been too. The picture above is Kait and I right before we left for the concert!

Yeti: I put this yeti in my back to school post because I literally live off of this thing during the school year and with work. I just bought the white one and I am completely obsessed with it. I can't wait to use it all weekend at the beach because it's perfect for coffee in the morning and ice cold water in the afternoon. Anyone else needs their water to be ice cold? Kyle only drinks room temperature water and it freaks me out.

Clear-Face Sunscreen: As I said I am headed to the Jersey Shore this weekend for my yearly family vacation. I have been so blessed with the summer I had this year which left me super busy filled with mostly concerts and other fun events. With that being said I haven't been able to layout as much as I want. I plan to fully use this sunscreen on my face multiple times a day because I hate having uncomfortable sunburn not to mention how unhealthy it is.

Riverdale: I think I made this one of my favorites at the beginning of the summer but I finally finished all three seasons and I am sooo ready for season 4. Season 3 was not my favorite but I am hoping that they redeem themselves with the upcoming season. If you haven't seen it stick with it, it gets better.

Cape Cod cracked pepper with a hint of lemon: I saw these on Carly's Instagram page and was immediately intrigued by them. I found them at the grocery store and to be honest they are a little different. At first, it just tastes like pepper and then the hint of lemon hits you. I loved them the rest of my family was not as much into them.

Adult School List

I have a theme going on this week on the blog and I did not intend for it or want it to be this way but let's face it back to school is coming whether we like it or not. I am actually heading to an orientation/ meeting later today to get ready for this upcoming semester. I am literally so busy this semester I will be doing something different almost every single day. I used this Barrington gifts bag last semester and loved it for its big size to be able to fit my lunch box, multiple water bottles and anything else I may need.

I literally just bought this Yeti on Monday in white, I love getting new stuff right before school starts to get me excited for the upcoming year. It actually worked out perfect because I'm going on vacation so I'm going to break it in all weekend at the beach.

Pens, pens, pens I love pens, especially colored ones and I am so excited because I found these Papermate flex pens which say they don't bleed through the paper and I am so excited to test them out. I love color-coding my Lilly planner it keeps me organized so I can't wait (these are the little things in life that make me happy).

Almost Apple Season

I can't even believe how fast this summer went by and that I am already writing even a transitional type fall post. I am always ready for fall to turn to winter and winter to turn to spring but I am NEVER ready for summer to turn to fall (even though I do love fall). But the apple season does make the transition a little easier.

Top: J.Crew Factory | Jeans: Old Navy | Headband: Amazon (similar) | Sunglasses: Raybans Sandals: Jack Rogers

I am calling this a transitional outfit because it would be so cute to throw a cardigan on with for the colder fall months. I love shirts that work for both seasons when it's fall in the morning and the dead of summer by the middle of the day so you can take the cardigan off and not sweat to death.

I also brought these amazing jeans back to the blog today because I love them so much I have to keep showing them off. These are the rockstar raw hem jeans from Old Navy and I find them to be so comfortable. Like if they didn't have a button I would qualify them as a step below leggings.

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings | Baginning

Weekly Review: This week was the last week of summer school so it sort of feels like the start to another mini summer vacation. I have a little more than two weeks and then life is about to get super busy. We had lots of celebrations at school this week and I'm actually super sad that it is over. I had the BEST people and kids in my room this year, we had way to much fun.

Weekend Happenings: This weekend we are heading up to the lake to spend quality time with a ton of family. It's going to be so nice to get away for the weekend because it really feels like another mini summer vacation before the new stressful semester starts.

New Website:
Baginning is a new website which sells a ton of gorgeous bags and purses. There are so many to choose from, from satchels and clutches to fanny packs and backpacks. One of my favorite types of bags that they sell is all of there satchel bags which range in all different prices.

I've also been soooo busy this summer and I am always looking for cute going out satchel bags and Baginning has so many that would work for any summer occasion. I really like small bags to go out with because I hate being weighed down when outside and already hot. Baginning has so many that are the perfect size.

Baginning also has so many clear tote bags which come in handy during the end of summer and start of fall. A lot of stadiums only allow clear bags and now our local theater which is showing Hamilton this week requires that you bring in a clear bag. So Baginning is the place to go if you are in the market for one because I have found that they are hard to find. I've linked below a few of my favorite bags from Baginning.

5 Years With The Love of My Life

Kyle and I have been together for 5 years tomorrow. These last five years have been filled with love, laughter, trust, and everything else that makes an amazing relationship. I couldn't ask for a better person to walk through life with and I can't wait to see where the next 50 years takes us. To celebrate our 5 years together I thought I would compile a bunch of pictures of us throughout the years. (Scroll to see us as babies 5 years ago).

Love ya more and more everyday babe!

Stripped Summer Dresses

Dress: J.Crew Factory | Wicker Satchel: Amazon | Sandals: J.Crew Factory

Kyle bought me this dress as a surprise at the beginning of the summer which was so sweet of him. It's so funny because he really knows my style and the things I will like and wear especially if they are from J.Crew factory. When I first got this dress I immediately thought it would make such a cute cover-up for the beach or just a throw on dress for summer which is exactly what I used it for. When I was linking the items for this post I read the comments on the dress and everyone else said the same thing about how this dress is the perfect cover-up.

This wicker bag is a favorite from last summer and I am bringing it back this year because it is the perfect accessory for summer. I also love this bag because it's small enough that it's not annoying, I hate heavy and big satchel bags that seem to get in the way more than they are helpful. This one is a perfect size and the perfect price.

5 Things

Evian Facial Spray: I literally have not stopped this summer which I am not complaining about but my face tends to from the sunscreen, sweating, reapplication of makeup, getting smushed by tiny children, the list goes on. But Evian facial spray helps to wash that all away by removing damaging substances and keeping you hydrated on the hottest of days.

Califa Farms XXEspresso Cold Brew: I love Iced coffee in the mornings to bring to work with me but I was so tired of just pouring coffee over ice and having the same taste every day. So I decided to try a cold brew and I picked this one up from The Fresh Market and it is sooooo good!

Roller Lash: I received a sample of Roller Lash in my Ipsy bag this month and forgot how much I loved it until I was reminded of it again. That's one of the reasons I love my Ipsy subscription because it introduced new products and can make you fall back in love with old ones.

Secret Obsession: I watched this Netflix original last week and I honestly have no idea how I feel about it. I don't wanna give any spoilers away but I will say I still have a lot of unanswered questions. It's a great suspenseful movie and I love Brenda Song who was amazing in it.

Target bathing suit: This bathing suit is actually only the second one I have gotten this year which I think is pretty good for me considering how much I love bathing suits. I really wanted a one-shoulder one this year. When I went into target I was fully in the mindset to get a black one-shoulder but then I found this one and completely changed my mind.

Pocket Swing Dress from Amazon!

Another Amazon dress, another dress with pockets, this time it does have buttons which makes it that much cuter. The buttons are fake but the pockets are real (I make myself laugh). This dress is only $19.99 and comes in three other colors including a gorgeous red wine color.

How cute is this apple watch band?!?! I have a confession, Kyle bought me this for Christmas and I threw it in a drawer because I felt it was more of a summer item and I totally forgot it was in there until a few days ago. I'm mad at myself for all of the time I wasted not using this! I may do a post on how to tie it and all the other uses so comment below if that's something you wanna see!

Dress: Amazon | Shoes: Jack Rogers (On sale at Zappos for $25) | Sunglasses: Raybans | Watchband: Wristpop | Necklace: Dogeared

This dress has the softest fabric and is so light with so much swing to it. I am so going to get my full wear out of this dress because it will look so cute with a jean jacket in the colder months. I love the pop of color that the wrist pop gives and is so fun, I can't wait to make up all the lost time by wearing this all the time.

I am also loving my new Tinsley jellies from Jack Rogers. Right now the black pair are on sale at Zappos for only $25 and a bunch of different colors are on sale on the official website for $30. They are so comfortable and have become my go-to sandal for the summer. It's so easy, especially being outside all the time if they get dirty or wet they wipe down clean so effortlessly.
