Is it fall yet or summer still?

Alright, listen I hate this time of year... the fall is my favorite season but its this weird transition period where it is winter cold in the morning and summer hot in the afternoon and it drives me nuts. I've been having a tough time figuring out what to wear these days because it is officially fall, but it doesn't feel like it temperature-wise. Dresses like this one make the transitions much easier.

These pictures were taken on a very special day for my best friend, and I know she's reading this so heyyy. The hat in these pictures is from Target as well as the dress, but the hat was one of the many highlights of the day. For some reason, this hat reminded me of the hat that Madeline wore in the Madeline books even though it literally looks nothing like it what so ever. So for the rest of the day, we called this hat Madeline. 

I love this dress for this awful transition weather period we are currently having. In the mornings this would be so cute with a jean jacket or a cardigan over the top and then you can take it off in the afternoon when it gets up to 90 degrees. 

J.Crew Teddie Sweater

The J.Crew Factory teddie sweaters are one of my favorite fall and winter items. I literally live in them because they are perfect for so many different outfit combinations. This year they have this gorgeous mustard yellow color which is so in this season. Early this month I shared this mustard yellow top which is also from J.Crew Factory which I love.

This outfit is pretty much my fall uniform, I posted this outfit last year which is very similar to this one. I just can't get enough of these teddie sweaters. I love to wear them under vests, by themselves, with a cute skirt, the options are endless because they are such a staple piece. 

Sojo Sunglasses

I recently purchased both of these sunglasses from Sojo through amazon. These are both priced very reasonably and have many different colors and styles to pick from. I am really not an aviator person but since these were priced so well I figured I would give it a try. These are the rimless aviators with a metal frame. I actually ended up wearing them to a concert recently and everyone wanted to try them on because they loved the blue color. These also come in a gorgeous pink color but I thought the blue made a bold statement. 

The other sunglasses are the classic round retro sunglasses which are similar to the sunglasses that I usually would pick from. I have been keeping these in my car because I hate when I forget my sunglasses and need them so these are now my car sunglasses so I always have a pair in there.

I can’t believe I am writing my fall wishlist out and I have a dress on covered in pineapples! It’s officially the season in New York when you need your heat on in the mornings and your air conditioning on in the afternoon. It’s also the time of year when your car gets this annoying fog all over the windows which makes it hard to see with the sun.... okay I’ll get off my soap box now!

So these are a bunch of my favorite items that I have picked out for the fall! I am loving this color blocked cardigan but it is a little on the pricey side so I found so many different dupes that are way more affordable and cuter. This one is from target and has more of berry tones but comes in other colors as well. I also found this super cute one from Amazon which is more similar colors to the Madewell one.

All of these picks are so cute and make me so excited for fall!

I feel like I was trying to hold onto the end of summer but I now think I am ready to fully embrace the fall season. Last night I was catching up on some homework and I had my fall candles lit and pulled some of my mini pumpkins out of storage. I had such a great summer so I was not ready to let it go but now that I am back in the swing of things with school I feel ready to take on fall.

Nothing makes me feel more like fall than fall clothes which I feel as though this outfit screams fall vibes. How cute is this burnt orange cardigan? On the website, they call it a "sweater-jacket" but it's pretty much just a heavier cardigan. This sweater jacket comes in four different colors including my color obsession camel but I have wayyyyy too much camel so I went with this gorgeous burnt orange. 

Weekly Review | Weekend Happenings | What I bought from the Lilly Sale

Weekly Review: This week was a big week, we started the week with the Lilly sale on Monday and ending on Wednesday! I actually went shopping instore on Sunday and you can read here about which items I bought!

Weekend Happenings: This weekend is pretty low key which will be really nice after the crazy busy week I have had.

Lilly Sale!!!: I feel as though I got a lot of great pieces from this years sale and I am so excited about it! I talked about the items I bought in-store in Monday's post "The Lilly Pulitzer Sale" but I bought two more items during the sale online.

The first item I bought was the Adrianna dress in the print multi Floridita which is such an effortless dress. This year effortless dresses that would work for so many different occasions was exactly what I was looking for. I love the cotton fabric dresses that are so light because they are perfect for work to throw on a cardigan or a jean jacket with.

The second thing I bought is a little different but something I genuinely needed so why not buy a Lilly version. For work, I wear bike shorts under all of my dresses because of all the movement and I really needed a new pair so I was so excited to find these in the sale! I find biker shorts super uncomfortable so why not make them cute when they are a necessity and not a want!

Twist Knot Top

Today I am bringing you another Amazon favorite of mine and this one is definitely going to be a fall favorite. This waffle knit top is perfect for a casual day look with jeans like this or paired with leggings. I love long shirts for fall to pair with leggings to look put together with minimal effort. 

I'm also obsessed with the twist of this shirt, I feel like it is a nice twist (see what I did there) on the tie effect that was so popular during the summer season. And if you're not ready to let go of summer there is a sleeveless version of this top which is equally as cute!

 Okay, so I am so excited to share with you guys my story about these pants! So one day I was at Marshals just browsing for some new items and I found these pants which happened to be rag and bone jeans. Now if you know rag and bone you know they are way more expensive than needed be. But these were on sale for only 15$!!!!! They fit perfect besides the length (like always) but for only 15$ I figured I would roll them. But then the idea hit me...I love the raw hem look, but it is soooooo hard to find them short enough to hit on my ankle where they are actually supposed to hit. I found this YouTube video by Lin Wenes on how to do the raw hem yourself and she shows such an easy way to do it. I am now obsessed with how easy this was and will be doing this to all of my pants!

I also paired this with a pair of jean shorts on my recent trip to the beach which was equally as cute! I love shorts and long sleeve tee's paired together I think it makes such a cute look. I also never thought I would be a jean shorts gal ever again but then I found these on Amazon and I fell in love with jean shorts all over again. These shorts come in a variety of different colors but are so stretchy and comfortable. These don't really ride up on your leg either making them the best shorts I have bought yet! 

The Lilly Pulitzer Sale!

It's the most wonderful time of the year again... the Lilly sale! I feel like each year it gets later and later and every year I wonder if this will be the year that they get rid of the sale. But here we are again back with another sale!!

I figured I would show a few pieces that I received from the sale last year, I literally lived in this dress and this bathing suit this summer. I had my eye on this suit for the longest time and then I bought it, then the summer ended, then I never got to wear it. So I really got the use out of it this summer.

This dress was the perfect dress for work and any day time events that were dressy but more on the casual side. This dress made me realize this summer that I need another dress similar to this one because of all the events I could think of to wear it. I loved the cotton material which made it more comfortable in the hot weather. The Sherryn shift dress is very similar.

I am completely obsessed with this print and right now it is taking over Lilly in pink which is equally as cute!! This Novia bathing suit is slightly similar in bikini form and I would LOVE if it was a one-piece. There is the Carmen one-piece which is a little bit of a different style but so cute in the pink print. 

This year my local Lilly Pulitzer store held the after-party sale instore this past weekend and I stopped by later on Sunday just to peak at what they had. I went in just to look and came out with two items! The first thing I bought was the Elsa Top in the print pawsitive cattitude and the Dani dress in the high tide navy it's for shore print! I really wanted a worktop this year and another dress that is more on the casual side and I got both of these items! Now I'm nervous about what damage I will do in the sale online today!

The Lilly Sale: The sale is finally here and I couldn't be any more excited! This is my favorite time of the year because it is when Lilly is finally affordable and at a really good price. I don't have anything specific in mind for this year but I will surely be getting something! The sale will start on September 9th and end on September 11th, I'm not sure if they will be adding more to the sale as the days go on. Look out for a post on Monday which is sharing all of my favorite Lilly finds!

Sushi roll socks: How cute are these new J.Crew factory no-show socks with sushi rolls all over them! The J.Crew no-show socks are the only socks I wear all year long with any type of shoe. They always have the cutest designs and I have wayy too many pairs.

Off the shoulder top: I recently bought this top for a Zac Brown Band concert from amazon through Shein. I personally found the sleeves to be too long so Kaitlin hemed them to about half the length and gave the shirt a whole new look.

Foot Mask: I have fallen in love with these masks especially during the summertime. I never wear shoes in the summer but my feet get so dry and so gross (feet freak me out) but these masks are so easy and get rid of your dry skin so quickly. All it is is a plastic sock filled with this liquid goo and you slide it on and sit. Then in a few days, your skin starts to peel and look soo much better.

Evelyn Henson Computer Wallpaper: Each month the artist Evelyn Henson sends out a wallpaper within in newsletter and I love them. I always get so excited to see what each month is going to look like. Besides her wallpapers she has amazing prints, she has so much talent.

Back to School with Kate Spade

I haven't used a backpack in such a long time I am actually so excited about this. In high school, I would use North Face backpacks and since I have a short torso so they were always so uncomfortable. I love the size of this Kate Spade one, it is just big enough to fit all of my notebooks but small enough to be super comfortable to wear. 

I'm also loving this new J.Crew factory top it feels like the perfect back to school top. I love the suddle hint of peplum and the color. Mustard yellow is going to be the color of the season this year and I'm not mad about it. Mustard yellow and burnt orange are the colors of the fall season this year.
