Ogunquit in the Fall

Over Columbus day weekend my family and I took what is now turning into a once a year trip to Ogunquit Maine.  Ogunquit Maine is literally gorgeous any time of the year but in October the town transforms into a spooky Halloween town. Each business and hotel pulls out their best Halloween decor transforming into a Halloween town.

Where we ate:
Ogunquit Beach Lobster House: This restaurant is located right near the beach and we could actually walk to it from our hotel. This restaurant has gorgeous modern decor and an amazing view out the large windows. The picture of the drink above is from this restaurant and it is an apple cider margarita with caramel and cinnamon sugar rim. For dinner, I had the grilled steak tips which were delicious.
The greenery café: We ate breakfast at the cutest café in town. I had blueberry French toast and a vanilla latte which was delicious. This was located directly across from our hotel which made it super convenient to go to. The muffins and pastries they have as you walked in were super hard to pass by as we walked in because they looked so delicious and they were huge.

- Mikes Clam Shack: This restaurant is more chill and casual but the Yankee game was on and part of it was a sports bar, so the boys really enjoyed that. If you love lobster this is the place for you to go! Unfortunately, I do not love lobster but some of my family members do so it was great for them.

What we did:
The Marginal Way: If you do one thing while you are in Ogunquit Maine this is it! The Marginal way is so beautiful, and you can walk out on the rocks and get some great picture like we did. The ocean was super angry this day and when we were on the rocks the waves kept coming up and getting us wet. If you go to my poncho sweatshirt post, you can see that my back is all wet. But there was a lady who got splashed and was not happy about it, we all thought it was funny.
Barnacle Billy’s: I’m adding this restaurant here because we only stopped in for a snack. But if you start at the one end of the marginal way and walk all the way then you end up at Perkins cove. Perkins cove has a bunch of cute little shops and restaurants and we stopped in Barnacle Billy’s for a drink and a cup of clam chowder.
TrolleyRides: There are a bunch of trolley’s that drive through the town and you can get them to take you to different places around town or just go for a ride, we did both! I love trolleys and sitting on the benches with all of the woodwork on the roof although it was a little cold it was still fun.

Even though we didn’t stay at the Medowmere they had my favorite Halloween decorations of the town. How cute is this huge witch which looks like it is made out of bushes and flowers! It is right as you drive into Ogunquit and I just thought it was so cute! This picture is from here which talks all about Ogunquit's fall festivities

Where we stayed:
TheJuniper Hill Inn: We stay at this hotel every time which is nice because we can walk to a bunch of things and have found some great places due to walking. But this hotel is nice there is a path to walk to the beach and an indoor pool. The staff is always super lovely and friendly.

  1. Looks like you had a great time. I have never been to Maine but we are exploring US right now. As we don't have to get visa for every trip hehehe. :-)

  11. Sunning on pure white beaches, browsing through quaint shops, watching the surf break on a rocky coast, deep sea fishing excursions, pleasure cruises... the things that dreams are made of? Actually, this could be a reality - if you choose to vacation in Ogunquit.
